Indeed, Pokémon such as Darkrai have not while others, like Cresselia, have. This has players questioning whether every Mythical and Legendary Pokémon can be caught throughout Sinnoh in the Generation IV remakes.
Shaymin is one such Pokémon that players aren’t too sure about. It’s a Mythical Grass-type Pokémon that can actually be obtained in Pokémon Legends: Arceus through a free gift if players have a Sword and Shield save file on their Nintendo Switch.
With Pokémon Home linking Legends: Arceus and Strahlender Diamant & Leuchtende Perle soon, players should be able to transfer their Shaymin to Sinnoh once that happens. However, this doesn’t answer the question of whether players can catch Shaymin by itself in Strahlender Diamant & Leuchtende Perle.
Catching Shaymin in Pokémon Strahlender Diamant & Leuchtende Perle
Unfortunately, as of right now, players cannot catch Shaymin in Strahlender Diamant & Leuchtende Perle. There was a glitch that allowed players to access an area where Shaymin could be caught.
However, this was patched by the developers in the version 1.1.3 update. If players are still on a version of the game that’s before that update was released, they can follow YouTuber BLAINE’s guide on how to catch Shaymin.
In the future, it seems increasingly likely that the developers will introduce Shaymin in Strahlender Diamant & Leuchtende Perle via the Mystery Gift system.
In the original games, players could only encounter Shaymin if they received Professor Oak’s letter via the Mystery Gift. Indeed, it stands to reason that the letter could arrive in the same way as BDSP, allowing players to catch Shaymin.
As of right now, though, there are no legitimate ways to catch Shaymin in Pokémon Strahlender Diamant & Leuchtende Perle.
Players can either perform a glitch if they’re on a version before 1.1.3 or transfer Shaymin over via Pokémon Home once Legends: Arceus and Strahlender Diamant & Leuchtende Perle are linked together. That will happen sometime in 2022.
